The Occult, from Russia, are one of those dark hardcore bands that are insanely awesome to find. If you are a fan of All Out War, Integrity, Rise and Fall, and others likewise, you will not be unhappy with this 4 song ep at all. If you are interested the smallest bit in any of the aforementioned bands, please, please, check this out. It is super awesome. I hope this band makes it to America for a tour.

Blood for Blood
Feeling angry? Sad? Vengeful? Depressed? Like you are going to flip your shit? Like you are on the edge. Here is the perfect record for you. Some of the hardest, fucked, mean, and depressed shit you will ever hear. Blood For Blood really hits it home with their first full length Spit My Last Breath. This album will grab ahold of you and not let go until you are on the verge of wanting to spit your own last breath. This record, definitely before its time, has inspired many a hardcore band lyrically and musically. The dudes walking around trying to sound tough today can't hold a candle to these bottom of the barrel ruffians.

FEAR
This is FEAR's first record. It was released in 1982. And it is without a doubt a must have if you like punk, hardcore, or just gritty rock n roll. Quit fucking around and listen to this if you haven't already. Singer Lee Ving paints a perfect picture of being pissed off in an early 80s wasteland, all the while delivering one of the best vocal performances of all time. I don't care about you. Fuck you.

Sabertooth Zombie
Sabertooth Zombie's first full length, Midnight Venom, is a spectacular display of hardcore, metal, craziness, and anger. These dudes really know how to tie one on music wise, and party wise. If you haven't heard this band, you need to, there really is not a way to describe them, so you should just check them out, on my good word. There are multiple releases by this band but I decided to recommend the first to get you started off right!

Gluttons
Ok, so Gluttons is a hardcore/punk band from Cleveland. Human Furnace of Ringworm sings and plays guitar. And he ain't no slouch on a 6 string. Fast, hard riffing is only elevated by HF's unholy vocal attack. If you like any of Cleveland's hardcore bands, you will most definitely like this band as well. Gluttons forever, forever Gluttons!
Elder
Elder is a 3-piece stoner/doom band from Boston. "Dead Roots Stirring" is their sophomore release. This is definitely in my top 5 records of 2011. This LP has everything you could ever ask for: thundering riffs, mesmerizing melodies, and deep musical landscapes. You will certainly get caught up in this aural assault. You absolutely need this album if you're a fan of Sleep, Kyuss, Electric Wizard, etc. No excuses, just listen.

Forced Reality
Forced Reality was a hard as nails American Oi! band. This self titled LP came out in 1989, and features Pete Morcey on vocals, who later went on to sing for hardcore band 100 Demons. This truly is a classic record that deserves more attention. If you are a fan of punk rock, Oi!, or even America, you probably need to hear this. This is a no nonsense record for no nonsense people, and you will benefit from hearing it. That is unless you are a bitch.
Oathbreaker
Oathbreaker is a fucked up band from Belgium. They play a crushing blend of metal, hardcore, and punk. They have a female vocalist who sounds like she may or may not be possessed by an actual demon. "Mælstrøm" is the first full length record from this promising band, and it does not disappoint. It is agonizingly relentless from the first second to the last. Recommended for fans of Rise and Fall, Cursed, and Integrity.
Mercyful Fate
"Don't Break the Oath" is Mercyful Fate's second full length LP. This is classic heavy metal at it's finest. Here you have a mountain of riffs, Satanic lyrics, and of course King Diamond's bellowing, falsetto attack. One listen to this record and you will instantly know why Mercyful Fate has influenced so many heavy bands including Metallica, who have actually recorded several Mercyful Fate covers over the years. So do yourself a favor, check this shit out, and get ready to bang your head off.
